The supplementary data combines several commonly used files into a single dataset, organized by subject matter. These files contain County-level characteristics from various sources, including US Intercensual county population data and county level data produced by Opportunity Insights. US Intercensal County Population Data by Age, Sex, Race, and Hispanic Origin for 2010-2015, 2000-2010, and annually from 1990 to 1999 compiled from published Census Bureau data by the National Bureau for Economic Research (NBER). Data were downloaded from https://www.nber.org/research/data/us-intercensal-county-population-data-age-sex-race-and-hispanic-origin.
County-level data produced by Opportunity Insights (https://opportunityinsights.org). These datasets can be used to analyze social mobility and a variety of other outcomes from life expectancy to patent rates by neighborhood, college, parental income level, and racial background. All county level data and support materials are included in the folder. Data were obtained from https://opportunityinsights.org/data/?geographic_level=102&topic=0&paper_id=0#resource-listing.
