The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) State and Local Implementation Study 2019 Restricted-Use File contains survey data and documentation from the Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) State and Local Implementation Study. The study is descriptive based primarily on six surveys that provide a comprehensive national picture of the state agency, school district, and school implementation of IDEA across the 2019-2020 school year. The survey data came from all 61 state-level entities that receive IDEA funding, as well as from nationally representative samples of 665 districts and 2,750 schools. Specifically, three surveys of state-level entities focused on policy and practices related to infants and toddlers (birth through age 2) and their families, preschool-age children (ages 3–4), and school-age children (ages 5–21). Two district surveys focused on policy and practices related to school-age children and preschool-age children (in 514 districts with preschool-age enrollment). The school survey focused on policy and practices related to children attending the school. The RUF can be accessed through a restricted use license agreement with the National Center for Education Statistics.
