The target population for the Organic Survey was all U.S. farms and ranches certified for meeting the standards of the National Organic Program (NOP) administered by the USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS). NOP standards are available on the internet at www.ams.usda.gov/nop. Only data from operations certified by an AMS approved agent are published.
